The adult prompt/theme:

Dig in your heels and continue to fight or accept circumstances and move on? In your essay, describe one or more times when you have been faced with this dilemma, the outcomes and what you took away from these experiences.

The student prompt/theme:

Working for a cause: What cause (social cause, environmental cause, etc.) is most important to you, why is it important, and what do you do to support it? Are there actions you wish adults would take to help?

Rules and prizes:

1. You must be a resident of Wauwatosa or attend a Wauwatosa public or private school to be eligible to compete in the writing contest.
2. First and second place cash prizes will be awarded by age level:
Grades 3-5: $30/$20 Middle school: $50/$30 High school: $75/$50 Adult: $100/$60
3. Your essay must be your own creation and not a retelling of the story.
4. There is no minimum length, but all essays must be no longer than 1,000 words.
5. Winners will be published on the Tosa’s All-City Read website.
6. Entries are due Monday, March 13, 2023.
